We use three categories of cookies and similar technologies:
Essential cookies. Required for the site to function: keeping you logged in, protecting against cross-site request forgery, remembering that you have seen our cookie notice. These cannot be disabled.
Analytics cookies. Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-GKXWBB6E49) measures traffic, page performance, and user flows. Data is aggregated; we do not use it to identify you personally.
Advertising cookies. Google Ads conversion and remarketing (account ID AW-18107959316) and Meta Pixel measure advertising campaign effectiveness and allow us to show relevant ads on Google properties (Search, YouTube, Display) and Meta properties (Facebook, Instagram).
How we handle consent.
By continuing to use IslandSold.com after our cookie notice appears, you consent to our use of essential, analytics, and advertising cookies as permitted by BC-PIPA and PIPEDA for non-sensitive cookies. Our notice is clearly visible on your first visit. Dismissing the notice does not change your consent state; it simply acknowledges that you have seen it.
If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track (DNT) signal, we automatically treat that as an opt-out of advertising cookies. Google Ads conversion/remarketing and Meta Pixel will not load. Analytics cookies continue to operate because they are aggregate and non-identifying.
Your opt-out options.
You can opt out of cookies at any time:
- Block cookies in your browser settings (affects all sites)
- Opt out of Google Ads personalization: adssettings.google.com
- Opt out of Meta advertising: facebook.com/settings?tab=ads
- Opt out of Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada member ads: youradchoices.ca
- Enable GPC or DNT in your browser. We honour both.
Learn more about our cookie categories and how to opt out at islandsold.com/privacy/cookie-preferences.
For email newsletters, property alerts, market updates, and SMS notifications, we require express opt-in consent at signup via a non-pre-checked box. We do not rely on implied consent for marketing messages.
Every email includes an unsubscribe link. SMS messages honour STOP replies. You can also manage or withdraw consent at islandsold.com/unsubscribe or by contacting privacy@islandsold.com.
We retain express consent records for a minimum of three years to meet CASL audit requirements.
